In furtherance of GHA’s strategic mission to preserve its existing affordable housing portfolio and expand the supply of affordable housing choices, the Griffin Housing Development arm leads the planning and implementation of activities related to GHA’s real estate portfolio, including the development and redevelopment, acquisition and repositioning of assets. In addition, through GHA's chartered powers, it is able to issue bonds to support the development of private investment in affordable housing in the greater Griffin/Spalding County area.



Griffin Housing Development is responsible for:
Revitalization of public housing sites: The Oaks, The Iris, Nine Oaks, Fairmont, The Terrace
Analyzing public/private partnership development proposals for the development of low and moderate income housing
Acquiring market rate single and multi-family investment properties
Acquiring and/or financing development of public housing/affordable properties
