“Helping Hands Ministries” at The Griffin Housing Authority

“Making a Difference Day” is the biggest national day for helping others. It is held each year on the fourth Saturday of October. There are millions of Americans who gather together to help change the world. Today, the Griffin Housing Authority and The Helping Hands Ministry has collaborated to host/provide a spaghetti luncheon, clothing closet, food bank, fellowship, fun, prizes, and games for the senior communities at Nine Oaks, Meriwether, and Fairmont Homes.

Make A Difference Day 2011This day was founded by “ USA WEEKEND” Magazine. It is a day that corporations, kids, and communities team up to volunteer on the nation’s largest day for helping others. This is GHA’s way of giving back to the community by partnering up with “Helping Hands Ministries” lead by Ms. Linda Holton as she works her ministry to improve the welfare of others. The Housing Authority was honored when asked by Ms. Linda to help with this event. The Griffin Housing Authority is afforded a public platform to be of service to people in need.

Make A Difference Day 2011This is just one of the efforts put forth by GHA to improve its communities as well as provide a picture to the public that reflect inside operations. For the national day of service, our authority was delighted to be a part of this great opportunity to reach out to others thereby making a difference to “whosoever” allowed us to do so.

Helping others is an everyday goal for the Griffin Housing Authority. It is our goal to assist families in reaching independency via education on the various different levels of assessment which are specifically, individually, research based driven to improve their quality of living. As the face of public housing evolves through stages of change, its transparency status will be highly utilized to raise awareness of the public about the ongoing efforts via the authority to help revitalize communities in Griffin.
